A Note from Our Founder on COVID-19

We're Here for You

While we know you have seen many, many versions of this message over the past couple of weeks, we also realize that most of those companies are probably not physically entering your home like we are. That’s why I believe it’s important for me to make sure you understand the precautions we have always had in place for the health of our customers and our employees, as well as the new steps we are taking to help all of us deal with this current situation.

Extra Step Cleaning has always had a “fever free” work environment. No representative of our cleaning company will ever enter your home if they are sick. All year round, we clean for customers who have family members undergoing chemotherapy, with compromised immune systems, with special needs, or are caregivers, or any of the countless other situations we run into on a daily basis across the St. Louis area. We take our customers’ health extremely seriously at all times.

During this global pandemic, we will continue using products that are 99.9% efficient for killing all viruses. We will also be asking our customers who preferred to not use these products originally, if they would like to begin using them now. Rest assured, we are extremely conscious of what products we can use on the various surfaces of your home and will never use a cleaning product that would harm a specific material.

We are implementing every possible measure that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended to help clean and sanitize your home. We have also introduced extra methods to prevent any spreading of germs or viruses between homes, as well. We are cleaning all of our equipment, and our vehicles, using Lysol®, between each and every home. All staff members will continue to wash their hands at every opportunity and will use hand sanitizer in between those times. All of our team vehicles are then cleaned and sanitized at the end of the work day, each and every day.

As noted by the CDC, cleaning and disinfecting are two different things. Cleaning is the removal of dirt, debris and bacteria from surfaces. Disinfecting uses a chemical agent to kill germs or bacteria. Both the World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC recommend using chlorine bleach as a disinfecting agent. It is recommended that surfaces be cleaned prior to disinfecting. This is the same process we use in your homes, today.

No matter what situation you are facing in this tumultuous time period, we want you to know that we hope to continue to do our part to help keep your home as clean and sanitized as possible. For the immediate future, Extra Step Cleaning will continue to operate on our normal schedule to make sure this continues for you.

We truly appreciate your business and are committed to keeping your home as healthy and happy as possible.
